Handy Ady was founded in 2020 by Ady Weightman, after deciding he wanted a change from his career in Management Consulting.
Since he was a child, Ady has been fascinated by how things work, and would always rather explore problems and try to fix things himself, rather than employ someone to do it – a challenge when working full time in a stressful job!
Ady’s practical skills range are divided into two main areas – fixing things with wheels – vehicle maintenance (including vintage scooter restoration), bicycle repair etc, and fixing things without wheels – i.e. fixing problems at home or with buildings and their fixtures and fittings.
Over the the years, Ady has gained experience in the following practical areas:
- Carpentry & Joinery
- General Construction
- Glazing
- Plumbing (excluding gas works)
- Electrical work (under the guidance of qualified electricians)
- General household maintenance
- Tiling
- Roofing
- Vehicle repairs (Cars, Vans, Motorbikes and Scooters)
An extremely practical person, Ady is a born problem solver, and prides himself in being able to investigate a problem and come up with a viable solution, before making things happen.
